The Light, but Rugged Hitch Mount Stowage Option

UWS 2" hitch mounted cargo carrier is a lightweight hitch-mounted cargo basket that frees up internal space in vehicles, and is a convenient hauling alternative to a roof rack. Connecting directly into an existing 2" hitch receiver, the cargo carrier creates an instant platform at the rear of vehicles measuring 51" (l) x 23" (w), with a 6" tall side rail and a load capacity of up to 500 lbs. With it users can transport heavy and/or wet items that they would prefer to keep out of their vehicles. Loaded and unloaded at just below vehicle bumper height, items placed in the carrier are always easily accessible, and require no over-head lifting. This makes it an accessory well-suited to outdoor adventures, tailgating parties, family picnics, moves across town and more. The carrier is constructed of 0.063" aluminum, and features a welded single-piece design, making it very strong and lightweight, at just over 30 lbs. The entire unit is covered with a black powder coat finish that is suitable as a base for painting, and a treadplate texture covering its floor slats and the upright supports of its side rails, provide incidental traction for stored items. The spaces between slats also allows for the drainage of water, and the flow of air.

Ultra-easy Installation and Use

Because the UWS hitch mount carrier is welded throughout into a single piece unit, installation and removal literally takes seconds. To install, simply push the unit's shaft into a vehicle's existing 2" hitch receiver, and lock it into place with a hitch pin (sold separately). The unit is also compatible with standard 2" hitch pin locks (sold separately) that can be used to secure the carrier to a vehicle. Use of a hitch pin lock will also minimize possible rattling of the carrier while in transit. The carrier is designed to be perfectly compatible with the UWS UWS 48" TBC-48-DD-BLK 48" standard tool chest, which sits within its 51" (l) x 23" (w) platform, but it can also accommodate most storage configurations users prefer to use. The unit's 6" side rails ensure stowed items remain stationary, yet allows enough room for the use of bungie cords, straps and tarps for additional support and protection from the elements.
